UMBC is founded by Ian Bate, a former member of the U.K. Olympic Boxing Team, Regional U.K. Champion and Hong Kong Champion and has been boxing since he was in middle school. Ian is passionate about boxing, its art and its ability to make a positive impact on the lives of people who practice from pre-teens to adults inclusive of all areas of abilities.
THE SCIENCE OF MOVEMENT
UMBC’s goal to not only learn the art of boxing though interval training methods but to improve movement, agility and core strength. There is no sparring.
UMBC’s program is completely customizable. Personal train solo one day or with 3 friends the next. There are no monthly membership fees.
NEW JERSEY ALL PEOPLE EQUAL
UMBC is proud to partner with NJAPE, an awarded inclusive movement organization that provides direct sports and fitness training for adults and kids with and without disabilities. NJAPE also provides professionals, school systems, hospitals, non-profit agencies, townships and corporate groups with training on how to create meaningful inclusive movement services for those they service.
UMBC and NJAPE fully embrace and advocate for quality inclusive movement opportunities, so that all people can grow, learn, and share together in common sport experiences. Our partnership creates a rare, but much needed marriage between boxing and inclusive sports services for people with disabilities.
